Nuvole: Series of vases in fig and cedar wood
 
The Nuvole (Clouds) series was born from a desire to explore the relationship between living wood and the passage of time — between the precision of the artisan’s gesture and the natural freedom of the material to transform itself. Each vase is turned from fresh, unseasoned wood, allowing the living matter to continue changing over the months and years — deforming, moving, breathing.
 
The cedar wood vase Number 04, on the other hand, are the result of a more deliberate dialogue between control and transformation. After turning, the wood undergoes a process of controlled burning — a technique that darkens and strengthens the surface. It is then brushed to reveal the grain, creating a vibrant, tactile texture that captures and reflects light in ever-changing ways. This process, uniting fire and movement, destruction and revelation, gives life to a wood of deep character and sculptural presence.
 
Each piece is a sculpture that breathes — a reflection on wood as a living, poetic material, capable of telling the story of its tree’s memory even after being shaped by human hands.
