Francesca Romana Cicia, Before it fades I
The work develops through organic crystalline formations spreading across the ceramic surface, creating a tension between presence and dissolution. The textured structure recalls fragments of natural matter, traces suspended between permanence and transformation, where the material appears to bloom while simultaneously fading away.
Through crystalline glazes and experimental surface treatments, Cicia investigates the void not as absence, but as an active and generative space. Her practice reflects on memory as an incomplete reconstruction made of fragments, interruptions, and traces that resist disappearance.
